When you’re a woman in your 30s who is trying to meet men online while living in Serbia, you eventually notice that your choices are limited. Sure, you are going to get a lot of matches, but there are certain categories of men that seem to be the only ones you’ll see.
I tried dating on Badoo and Tinder, and I noticed the same thing – the types of guys I get are just not the ones I want. Who do I want? Well, to be honest, I only joined Tinder to see my crush there, who was just a friend I secretly liked more, and I did, but he also falls into one of these categories that simply don’t work for me. Is there a guy on Tinder who doesn’t fall into one of these categories?
Here are 4 types of men on Tinder when you’re 30+ and trying to match with guys in Serbia:
1. Younger Men
Okay, so some women like younger men, and I see nothing wrong with that… But I always preferred older men and was hoping to meet someone my age or older. So, I eventually filtered out the younger men. Maybe that’s a mistake, and the messages I got from younger men were very interesting, playful, and fun, but younger men are just not my thing. So, let’s see what categories are left when it comes to men in their 30s and older:
2. Divorced Dads
I chatted with some great men in this category. They were hot and smart, but they already had a family, and I didn’t have one. If I were a divorced mum, I would definitely date divorced dads. But I’m not, and I was hoping for someone who doesn’t already have such romantic history, someone like me, who is still hoping to start a family. And there are guys who are also hot and smart like divorced dads, but don’t have kids and were never married. Unfortunately, though, they usually fall into the following category:
3. Eternal bachelors
Finally, a hot, intelligent, funny guy with a great job and at the right age to get married. Yeah, they exist. Actually, my crush falls into this category. Are you sensing that there’s a catch? There absolutely is! Guys over 30 who check all your boxes are impossible to tie down.
Think about it.
If he’s that great, how come he is single at that age and not even a divorced dad? It’s because he’s not single, at least not really. He is an eternal bachelor, and he is not made to settle down with one girl, no matter how much we chase him. Keep in mind that if it’s too good to be true, it probably is. If a guy at that age is that great but still single, something doesn’t make sense, and he is probably a womanizer. So here’s what’s left:
4. Foreigners
Finally, the last category of men over 30 that you can find on dating apps are foreigners or tourists. These guys either live thousands of miles away from you, or they are staying in your country only for a limited time. I chose to date foreigners out of all these categories and it was really fun. They are clever and exotic, and they open up new worlds for you. But they are not a long-term option even if they want to be.
So what’s left? Sure, maybe there are men who don’t fall into one of these 4 categories, but if you find a guy like that, make sure to keep him because he’s a rare kind. Consider dating the guys from the 4 categories I mentioned too!
There’s nothing really wrong with that, it’s just my personal opinion that none of those are right for me.
